Customer Reviews

Superb pan!Chantal makes the best cookware bar none. I put a little butter in it and cook my eggs, and they slide right out. I am able to thoroughly cook everything in this pan on low. 5Coating wears off and no longer non-stickThe ceramic coating lasted for about 6 months before obvious scratching occurred and the coating wore off. It's difficult to hand-wash the pan clean without using the rough side of the sponge, but using the rough side the sponge will eventually cause the ceramic coating to scratch and wear off. Once the coating scratches and wears off, the pan is no longer non-stick.It did last me well for 6 months but I would have expected at least a year or two of life with a $50 pan.In comparison, the ceramic pan I bought from Nordstrom is lasting quite well, no scratches, coating still alive and well, non-stick after 1.5 years of use. It was more expensive (about $120) but if it's lasting more than twice a long it's worth it. 2So hard to find a ceramic non-stick induction ready fry pan.In fact, this is the ONLY product I could find that was not only induction ready but also had a ceramic non-stick coating. We have decided to do away from teflon coates non-stick pans because they are too easily damages and we have sometimes found pieces of the coating in our food.Since this is the only such product we could find, we are very happy that it works so well. The quality is top notch. 5Heavy pan with even heatingI use this with my Duxtop LCD 1800-Watt Portable Induction Cooktop Countertop Burner 9600LS. The magnetic bottom of the pan is perfectly flat and heats the pan quickly and evenly. This is a heavy pan and can be difficult to control without holding the auxilliary handle. The ceramic coating is very smooth. After doing some research on nonstick pans, I have realized that COOKING SPRAY IS A NO-NO as it creates a film that renders the non-stick more sticky. Also, DISHWASHERS are a NO-NO. I rinse this thing under warm water and wipe it out with a cloth and it is perfectly clean. I dry it and put it away with paper towels or pan protectors between my various pans. I recommend AGAINST searing meat in any nonstick pan. I have bare-metal stainless steel pans for that (Calphalon Classic Stainless Steel Cookware, Fry Pan, 2-piece, $49.99) for searing which I can get as hot as I please over the induction cooker or on my gas range. The only thing I would complain is that the transition between the flat bottom of the pan and the sloped sides is too "abrupt" and makes "flipping" the contents a little more difficult. The most perfect pan shapes have a more gradual transition than what this pan has. However, those pans don't require the super-flat bottom that induction pans need, so this is a minor gripe. It would have been nice if a lid were included. Otherwise, this pan is excellent. Not cheap at $104.85 but I am very pleased and use this almost daily, along with a number of other Chantal pans. 5Best small frying pan I've ownedSo good, I bought one as a gift for someone I care about. Fries beautifully, cleanup is a dream, well made, and I use it daily. It's become my go-to for smaller items. I do not use it if I'm trying to create a fond. Note that it works on induction cooktops not because it is clad, but because it has a thick stainless bottom bonded to it. It is not an All-clad, but the convenience of the ceramic is worth it. Heats pretty evenly and fast. You'll be glad you bought it,. 5Poor packaging resulted in dented pans twiceBEWARE The manufacturer should ship in its own box. Twice I have returned this dented $92 pan to AMZN. The losers in the "fulfillment center" shipped it with one sheet of paper the first time and NO protection at all the second time.. Both plans arrived dented. Worse, the second pan came with the labels torn and sort of taped back to the pan- - except the tape won't adhere to the coating. It is almost as if AMZN was recycled defective returns. Nice move AMZN. Twice I had to repack, drive to the local p/up center and return the boxes. What a waste. We also bought the smaller versions that arrived undamaged. I will look for another vendor. VERY SHODDY SERVICE but the manufacturer plays a role here, too. Put it in a $1 carton of its own. 1One of the best non-stick pans I have ownedI believe all the negative reviews are from users who did not give the pan the delicate care it requires. I'm not saying it isn't solid, tough, and durable, when used as recommended. All ceramic non-sticks will lose their non-stick quality once protein or sugar/starch has been burned in them, or abrasive cleaners/scrubbers have been used on them. I never brown meat or cook potstickers, etc. in ceramic pans, and my non-stick lasts. I follow the directions for cleaning (basically, I never have to do more than wipe it out with a paper towel and then handwash any oil from it using liquid dishsoap and a soft plastic scrub brush or sponge). I don't use metal spoons or spatulas in them. They are tougher than teflon for scratching, but teflon retains more non-stick character after scratching. That's the trade. 5Awful pan. I would avoid it.This is in no way a non-stick pan! While it looks good and, at first glance, may appear to warrant being priced at over $50, it is just lousy. Omelets stick to the bottom unless I use at least 2 tablespoons of butter. The only things that consistently do not stick are vegetables when sauteed in oil. Unless our pan was a fluke, look elsewhere if you want a true non-stick pan. I say this having spent hundreds of dollars on quality cookware including All-Clad and Cuisinart. 1I like the non-stick aspect of the skillet and it is ...The size of the skillet is misleading because I ordered a 10" skillet and it is 10" at the top but 8" at the bottom of the skillet where the foods are placed. I like the non-stick aspect of the skillet and it is very easy to clean the inside. The bottom of the skillet has too many grooves making it difficult to keep perfectly clean. 3No PTFE of PFOA and it works great.Great pan, we have this and the 10" version. We purchased them to replace our T-Fal teflon pans.We have an induction stove top. This pan is better than I thought it would be.The pan is well built, you can tell it will last when you pick it up.The base is nice and thick and distributes heat evenly. Our T-Fal pans had become warped, but they are thin and flimsy in comparison to these pans.I highly recommend these pans to anybody looking for a Teflon alternative. 5
