Perfect These are huge! Perfect for what I used them for! 5Great product ! I use these towels as part of a crafting business and they are the only ones I use! I've seen similar towels at Walmart and Target and I skip right over them! These towels are great quality, size and price. For all my fellow crafters be sure to use these towels for you next custom HTV project! They won't disappoint! 5Misleading Maybe they changed what these are made of but there is no way they are 100% cotton as said. They repel and smear liquids instead of absorbing them. Hoping I can return these or get a refund. 1Not absorbent They have well made hems and appear to be quality made but NOT absorbent at all. I even tried washing and drying them several times to soften them up but it did not help their absorbency. Will need to find another use for them because they are not suitable for drying dishes. Will pay more and go back to the brand that works. 2Disappointed I've purchased through this seller a hand full of times and never had this problem until now. Yes, every so often there will be maybe 2-3 towels out of the 12 that are slightly off or unusable BUT the last two orders i have received were awful.... ALL 12 towels were EXTREMELY uneven. They could not even be considered to be "Square" or even "Rectangle" for that matter. This will be the second time I'm exchanging. If the next one i receive is the same way - I'm no longer purchasing for you. 1Perfect for crafts and kitchen So many flour sack towels declare that they are perfect for handicrafts. That is not so! These were the first of many attempts to find the right towels for embroidery, for painting, for stability in kitchen use (or babies as my son has discovered!). Don't mess around with other attempts to find the perfect flour sack for craft and kitchen use. These are perfect! 5Phenomenal product!! Excellent quality!!! Arrived beautifully pressed, and ready for use. Washed and dried immediately, then applied iron on transfers via heat press and the material took the vinyl and high heat beautifully. Have washed and dried multiple times and they still look brand new! Have already ordered more and will gladly continue to order these!! Many thanks for selling such a high quality product at such a great price!! 5Packed with sizing (fabric stiffener) to the point it sheds water. UPDATE: If you are shopping for towels to embroider, these will most likely be great if you are giving, perhaps one to each of several friends or loved ones. Hopefully they will respect your effort and just keep them in a drawer. But if you are ordering them as utility dish towels, you might be in for a little disappointment because they are thin, as others have said... sort of like the material you'd find in a white dress shirt... and they are not initially absorbent at all... and I do mean at all. Yesterday my order of 24 ea 12X12 AmazonBasics Cotton Washcloths arrived and I thought, before washing them, that I would test for absorbency. Poured a spot of water on the countertop, dipped one of the cloths in and it sucked the water away, dry! I did the same thing with one of these Cotton Craft dish towels (laundered once as described in the original review) and it got wet but didn't pull up the water. I then laid the folded towel on the remaining water and wiped, it spread the water, picked up some, but left the countertop wet. Nuff said? I might just use the wash cloths as dish towels because I'm sure one of them will hold more water than the larger dish towel.Original Review:I studied reviews for many brands of this same product and all of them ranged from 1 to 5 stars. I needed towels though, so I ordered these in hopes they are a little better than the brands that give away 200 sets in exchange for reviews. I do trust Amazon Vine reviewers but ones sought out by independent services worry me a little because so few of them really criticize the product. Easy to pick those products out because they have 50 or so 5 star reviews, each of which is about 6 words long.HOWEVER, the criticism from reviewers here about absorbency IS founded in truth. I am sure this is caused by the sizing they use to machine iron them for packaging, so that they look as nice as possible on the shelves (or possibly for the monogrammers and embroiderers)... and it will take several washes to get that out. I washed these exactly according to the directions, using Tide and a front loader pair ... set to gentle, cold, with second rinse turned on, then dried them on low heat. Before washing them, straight out of the package, water beads and runs off like from a raincoat, after one wash the cloth at least gets a little wet, but in order to wipe a small puddle you have to open the cloth and circle it around before it can dry a spot the size of a quarter... it just spreads the water around. Seems to me it would be a lot of trouble to wash these 4 times before use, so I am knocking off two stars for that. That small item covered, Let me say these are nice cloths, easily deserving a good review otherwise. The hems are very well done, no hanging threads, even after the first wash and dry. They are thick enough (barely) to feel like a real dishtowel rather than tissue paper. There is also a corner strap for hanging them, but I don't have anyplace that could handle something that big hanging diagonally ... certainly not from the kitchen counter because the towel is big enough that the opposite corner is on the floor.... not the product's fault, I'm just telling the people who want the hook strap they'd better have wallspace high enough. To me that looks a little unsightly anyway...I will count the number of times I have to wash these in order to start getting some "sponge-like" absorbency and then report that in an update. 3Not a flour sack, but nice dish towels for embroidery Misleading name of napkin. But these could only be better if they ironed themselves. Didn t really need ironed though, as I pulled them right out of the dryer and laid flat. These are just nice napkins. Nothing about them is like a flour sack. Great to embroider onto though. Love the loop. 5For decoration only. No functional value. I gave these towels an extra star for value as they are great for crafts, especially transfers. They looked beautiful at first. I planned to give the customized towels as gifts and sell at our local art market. However, after testing one out (after customizing ALL of them - tough lesson learned!!) I saw how badly they wrinkle and how poor the absorbency is. I m embarrassed to put my name on it and give, much worse sell, them to someone. And yes, I followed all laundering and ironing instructions both before and after customizing. 2
