    Serves My Purpose I used this on the side of my kitchen cabinet to hang pots & pans with S- hooks. It was good for my purpose. The bar is 24 and it s 26 with the brackets I cut the bar down to fit my cabinet, and this was easy because it s wood. There was some chipping of the finish during installation, but I was able to cover that with a wood stain marker. There were 4 screws , 3 wooden plugs and 3 plastic anchors included (should have been 4 of each). The wooden plugs were too big. Fortunately, I had plugs from a previous project and didn t need the anchors. Overall, I am satisfied because the price was reasonable and my final project looks good.4as the old one was better than the new item was promptly shipped, but the quality of joinery and finish if the so called oak made the seat unusable. in desperation i ended up taking off the hardware and used it to remount my old oak seat, as the old one was better than the new. the rim of the new seat is pieced like a jigsaw puzzle, with dovetailing uneven and rough, and varnish and stain not going to the edges. awful. also, it came with brass nuts to hold the bolts instead of the finger tighten plastic ones, which i doubt would ever come loose when you need to remove, making changing a toilet seat a major project. 1Be aware that this toilet seat is Oak veneer over ... Be aware that this toilet seat is Oak veneer over a pressboard core. My seat cracked within 2 weeks of installation, which I repaired with a metal bracket under the seat and spackling paste. It works very well now. 2Bad factory, but good customer service at Max WarehouseOrdered one because it was solid wood instead of veneer and the brass fittings looked sturdier than the chrome ones on my old toilet seat which had stripped out. Seat arrived with the lid cracked in two still in the shrink wrap. Contacted Max Warehouse, the seller, and they sent me a replacement. Installed that. Worked just fine until a week later when one of the plastic bumpers fell out because the idiots at the factory had only pressure fit them rather than use glue. I'm handy enough that I got my wood glue and glued that one in and then for good measure took all the others out and glued them in place too.I've kept the first broken seat for parts.That said, the wood on this second seat looks sound so I'll see how it goes.2Poor packaging (product packagingPoor packaging (product packaging, not shipping packaging). You pretty much have to destroy the package in order to open it. So there is no test fitting, etc before you open it up. And the protruding pieces(that hold the roll in) is slighly too long. You have to squeeze your new roll of paper towel in order to push it in. You will leave indentation mark through the side of the entire roll, possibly crushing/mutilating the center tube in the process. Once it's on, it works fine though. There is enough clearance on all sides for the roll to rotate freely.3It is too early to tell if this solid wood seat will perform any better. I have given this seat only 3 stars We purchased this toilet seat to replace a cheaper model that had a veneered surface. It is too early to tell if this solid wood seat will perform any better. I have given this seat only 3 stars, because the lid has black knots in it. The knots may add interest in other places, but black "spots" on anything in the bathroom does not look clean and sanitary. So, even though we will keep this seat, it would have gotten four stars for appearance and maybe even five stars when we determine how it holds up. The first seat split and then broke into three pieces after only a few weeks; I've just expeditiously received a replacement from Amazon and hope this one lasts. I like the overall appearance and serviceability of this product and am a happy customer at this point. I've never had a toilet seat break and there are no inordinately heavy users of this product, therefore, I could only conclude the first seat was defective in some manner. 4Don't bother. Looks good but no quality control.No quality control here. The sides were not perpindicular to the base so a paper towel roll wouldn't fit. We took it apart to try and fix it and discovered that it was even worse when built but 'quality control' fudged it with some filler and glue to try and make it right. Unless you are handy and willing to rebuild, don't bother.1This is not a toilet seat. Fishy.Because it is really elegant, easy to install, is not flimsy, and came at a good price. If I can install it, so can you. I am legally blind, yet I had no problems at all. Here's a hint: use a nail first. I used a nail to make a hole, to which I inserted the little plastic doo-hicky. Then screwing in the screw (with an electric screwdriver) was a breeze. I have a 6-year-old granddaughter who will use toilet paper to dry off her hands if a towel isn't readily available, so I put this at a level she can reach. It's perfect! I find it fishy and have re-evaluated my review because of it. It seems there are sellers on Amazon who try to boost their lousy reviews by crossing them with reviews of good product reviews. I'm not having it.3Broke after only 2 1/2 months.I thought this was a wonderful product. We received it on Aug 24, 2017, and on Dec 5, 2017, it cracked right down the middle. A very uncomfortable and slightly painful experience. When we first rec'd this seat I could see that there had been a break & a good repair. I don't know why I didn't return it then. It broke again after only 2 1/2 months use of use here. We aren't large people. My husband repaired w/gorilla glue & it held until last week. It's now 8/4/18 so it lasted less than a year but with 2 repairs.1Buyer beware.Ordered on 10-7-2016. Today, 11-12-2016, the seat cracked in HALF! I doubt that I can return a toilet seat that has been in use for a month, but I will not purchase this brand again. Additionally, since I'm writing this review, there were no instructions in the packaging. How difficult could it be to install a toilet seat? Not very, but there were plastic washers and it isn't explained whether they go on the top of the seat between the hinge and the toilet bowl, or underneath between the toilet bowl and the bolts. Two screws, two plastic washers, and two bolts comprise all the hardware. Regardless, I tried both "configurations" and neither kept the seat on any tighter than the other way.1Toilet seat split after only 3 weeks of use. This toilet seat split down the right side after only 3 weeks of use. I got a second one for free from Amazon, and it cracked after only 3 days. These things are junk. I didn't bother to add photos because it looks about the same only on the other side~ 1Bypass this seat unless you re handy with toolsI was stubborn, still am. I wanted a wood toilet seat. The first one I sent back because the screw holes were drilled too big and the hardware wouldn t stay attached. The second one went back because of flawed wood; the 3rd because of one section of the lid significantly darker than the others. That s right both lid and seat are each pieced together from 4 cuts of wood, not necessarily well matched for color and not of high quality wood. I have had it 12 weeks and I just finished adding wood glue to one of the main seat joints and reinforcing all four of them with steel braces. It was separating quite noticeably and I m lucky I didn t get pinched. I am also going to reposition the hardware because it is set too wide and one bracket holding the seat has slipped off the cross bar. Look elsewhere for quality. It s not here.2Good quality for pricePretty nice quality. A couple of issues though. First, if you use the uncluded drywall anchors the brackets are not going to be flat against wall. This creates a little wobble. It would have been nice for the back to have recesses. You could substitute a flatter anchor instead. I d recommend a different anchor anyway, as the ones included are the cheapest variety. Second, two of the front screw hole recesses are too big for the included plugs. They will not stay in by friction. I suppose I ll glue them in. I m not too concerned with either, as this bar is at a utility sink.4Broke after 2 days I was really excited about this toilet seat at first, because it is "solid wood." We installed it 2 days ago, and everything was going fine until this morning, as I was sitting on it doing my business, the seat broke. I have no idea why this happened. I'm an average weighted woman (about 150lb). I am extremely disappointed. 1My new one is great and I've now had it several monthsThis toilet seat broke in half one month after I ordered it. I called Design House at Phone: 800-558-8700, and they sent me another one immediately free of charge. They verified that I bought it from Amazon and it was delivered within a week. My new one is great and I've now had it several months. If you get a bad one, just give them a call. The customer service rep was very nice.4I've had this toilet seat cover for a little while ... I've had this toilet seat cover for a little while now -- and it appears to be very well made and of heavy wood. It doesn't look or feel cheap! I wondered about some of the reviews that said the seat broke soon after installing it -- mine has not. The price is a little steep, but I do believe you get what you pay for. The Honey Oak color is just as pictured. 5
