Customer Reviews

Low cost I needed three 20 x 30 tarps for a temporary project. I wanted to spend as little as possible, so I found these. They weren't the best quality, but they only had to last a week. They worked well for this project. I now have extra tarps for covering items from the elements. 4Weed Removal Defeated I got these to test out my idea of a non-chemical method to eliminate brush and weeds. In the deep past, I saw that plywood or even cardboard laid over plant growth would retard or even stop further growth. So, applying a quick try, I attempted to stifle unwanted fire hazard by covering the areas with this tarp. Wind soon defeated my efforts. After perhaps a week or two of covering, often the wind would blow the tarp loose. I tried various cheap ways to secure the tarp, but it would frequently be blown uncovered. Seeing no results after the short time that by which I finally gave up, figuring that'd it would be perhaps a month or even more, with the trouble and effort that I had to spend, I now use the tarp for other things. Being once backpacking and camping, they might come in handy, but for lean-tos or snow camping, they do have grommets, and haven't torn due to what wind in the short time that I used them for the outdoors. Haven't tested them for water repellency yet. They are so large, folding them down is a problem. They most likely aren't fire resistant. For as much as I've put into it, it looks that chemical treatment would probably have been better, but for plans and preferences. The realtor did say of this. I like organic, and used to spend a lot for such food. I'm looking for now other methods by how to reduce both worry some fire hazard, and compliance with the neighborhood. In the short weeks that I've wasted the time, and money, this way looks fruitless. Thankfully, as I don't throw away what is still good, there may be other uses for such a versatile item! 4Good tarp for the money. A lot of the reviews for this tarp seem to be just so-so, but that has not been my experience. First, I will warn you that it is not the thickest tarp I have, and if you snag it say on a splinter or something sharp, it will rip quickly. Having said that, the tarp has been covering my bare plywood carport roof for 3 days, being held down with bundles of shingles and also a few 2x4s that I screwed to the plywood. Winds gusted over 50mph last night, and they have been steady over 25mph for 36 hours now. The tarp is flapping and waving in the wind, but it's holding strong and the plywood is dry. Only issue is size, but maybe I didn't measure right. Even with the 29'4" finished length, it still seems to me like it is about 12 inches shorter than that. With the winds, I haven't been able to get a straight measurement on it yet to confirm. 4POS tarp good for nothing. Used this in conjunction with some ball tarp bungies as a cover for 17x10 tent. Worked great the first two days when there was no wind whatsoever. on day 3 the wind kicked up to 10 mph and everyone of the grommets tore out in about 10 minutes. Tarp was totally ripped and destroyed in about 20 minutes and went in the trash. I noticed while putting it up that the thickness of the tarp is about half that of the cheap walmart tarps that i used under the tent. I cant even imgaine what this useless thin thing would even be good for? It is thinner than plastic garden sheeting. POS dont waste your money. 1Good Tarp If You Understand What It Can and Can't Do I have used tarps like this in the past, and recommend using it where it can do the job. If you do that, it will serve you well. What it can't do: -- It can't replace a strong canvas tarp. It rips and tears easily, or if pulled tight against something sharp. -- Don't expect the tarp to not rip out the grommets if you have a lot of strong winds. -- It won't last forever. Sun and soft rubbing will eventually cause a hole to fray through. What it can do: -- It is waterproof (unless it rips). It will keep whatever is underneath it dry. -- If you are careful and choose jobs it can do, it should last at least three years. The down-and-dirty: This tarp, if ripped or frayed, will break down into strands of plastic. If you don't do anything to fix that issue, you will have strands tangling in other items in your yard. To fix, use duct tape. Tape on both sides for max hold, and easier to fix small tears before they expand to holes with strands flying about. Once you know it can rip or tear, you can do things to help it. My last tarp kept my wood (not always the smoothest items) dry for two years. Last year (third year) I didn't repair the tiny rips and had some wet wood. This year, I folded the old tarp and placed it on top of my wood pile (picture rows about 15 feet long, 5 feet deep). The folded old tarp protects the new tarp from sharp points as well as fraying when the wind blows. Expecting the new tarp to last at least three years if not longer due to the old tarp protecting it. Very satisfied. 5So thin... I examined the description closely to determine how thick this was, but the only clues were a moderate price, and total weight. I cannot express how thin and flimsy this item is. I carefully covered any sharp corners with secured cardboard, but within minutes I can see where this won't last the remainder of the day in the wind, as the cardboard is starting yo pull through. IF you are planning to cover something like a concrete slab where no pressure will be placed on any of the tarp, including using bungee chords in the grommets, then this may be worth your money. but it certainly was a waste of mine. 2Defective The 2 tarps leaked through the seems and manufacturing defects. There were many see-through areas that leaked. We had to put plastic containers everywhere to try to catch the many leaks. We tried to tape the seems, but they still leaked in other areas. The leaks could not be fixed no matter how hard we tried because new ones kept springing up and leaking down and dripping everywhere. A total nightmare! 1Will not provide protection We thought these would be nice for our pens all uniform color but with in a few months they start to bear thread and they are not water proof either...they are very thin and I definitely would not recommend this product for something you want to protect.... Harbor freight has blue tarps for the same price that will last a year these tarps will have to be replaced before winter very disappointing for us. 2Very thin but can cover small cities. First of all, 20'x30' is ridiculously large. If you're thinking you need a large tarp and say to yourself, "20x30 is big and I need a big tarp, I'll just buy this one" you're in for a real interesting discovery when you open the package. Just when you think you've opened the last fold, you find more folds. I'm not entirely certain that this tarp doesn't extend into dimensions not comprehensible by the human brain.Okay, you need this giant tarp for some reason. Maybe you have to cover a baseball infield or an olympic-sized swimming pool, I don't know. Something you shouldn't use it for is to cover pointy things or as a base for a heavily-trafficked area, or anywhere people might walk on it to be honest. It's pretty thin. That being said, I used this tarp on a campout and it didn't tear. Well, I say "used" when I really mean that I fought a losing battle trying to prevent an enormous blue rectangle monster from escaping on the winds of freedom. So when I factor in the battle and capture of this animal I gotta respect the durability a little bit at least.I don't know if I'll ever find a use for this tarp, mainly because unleashing it from captivity is an all-day long affair. But if I decide that I want to double-wrap my Escalade in blue plastic I certainly have the ability to do so. 3Great product Great product to cover up a large stationary item. Bought this to cover a load of brush to haul to the dump. It is not designed or thick enough to use on pointed objects or on the Highway. When I arrived at the dump it was shredded. but it got the job done. I recommend getting a thicker Tarp if you expect to reuse it. I didn't expect to reuse it 5
