Customer Reviews

Works - Keeps opened wine good for days and daysI use this often to preserve wine after serving just a glass or two. Wine seems just great even a week later. You just pump a bit of the gas in, seal immediately with the cork, and keep the bottle upright. A can lasts quite a while in my experience. The pump and rubber insert method was no where near as good - wine usually changed for the worse even in one day. 5Keeps wine fresh for a week. This really works. Combined with the Oxo wine stopper, this will keep a bottle of red wine at room temperature for over a week. My taste in wine is up to the $20-30/ bottle level, and I dont like to feel obliged to drink every bottle within 24 hours. With this preservative, I can keep it for a week (usually I dont, but I could) 5This stuff works!Tired of losing a part of a bottle of wine, or feeling like you "better finish it" when maybe you don't really want to? Or are you tired of red wine from the fridge trying to keep it from going bad? You can save a part bottle of red wine on the counter for days, and white wine in the fridge as well. Or, if you want another glass you don't have to pass to avoid opening another bottle. Spray it and it will be just fine the next time. And when it comes, don't lift up the can and think you got cheated. The can weighs next to nothing, even when full. If you save a few 1/2 bottles of wine you will pay for the can, and you will preserve many more bottles than that with a single can. I started to order it through amazon when the local liquor store stopped keeping the stock up.To quote an old commercial: "Try it, you;'ll like it" 5Works extremely well and saves me money too! This really works great to keep wine or other liquids fresh. It's simply a non-toxic inert gas that sits on top of the wine and keeps it from oxidizing from the air that gets into your wine bottle after you open it. Since the gas is heavier than air, it sinks to the bottom of the bottle and covers the remaining wine like a blanket, protecting it from the oxygenated air above.I like fine aged Port, but since I don't drink very often, I always dreaded opening a bottle, knowing that much would go bad before I could finish it.Once I started using these preservation spray cans, I found that I could go back to an open bottle weeks or even months later and it was still fresh tasting, rather than having turned to vinegar. This saves a lot of money in wasted wine if you're a light drinker as I am.Highly recommended! 5Using for Whisk(e)yI primarily use this for open bottles of various whisk(ey), as I have a large collection of all types including some rare ones that like some cigars, only have a glass or two once or twice a year for special occasion. Open bottles can start to lose some edge and flavors can become muted after 8-12 months if around 1/2 to 3/4 fill, and less than that if the bottle is lower. This has maintained the profile for some 2-3 year old open bottles with zero concerns. For those rarer bottles, I do re-open and re-preserve them once or twice a year just to give them some love. Not sure if its needed but it has worked great for me. Used to be able to buy this brand in town and I'm sure some stores might have it but I get it from Amazon so I don't have to go hunting for it like a rare find bottle. The off-brand ones I've found in town did not seem to keep the same freshness so I switched to online ordering.I've not tried on wine, as that gets drank fairly quick once cracked open and have not had to preserve any, so can't comment on that area, even though that is the primary purpose. 5No better than vacuum stoppersI don t think it does anything. I used it on red wine bottles several times for different lengths. For a 10 day hold, the wine was completely oxidized (half a bottle). I could not drink it. I used it for 3-4 days and that was ok, but not different than a vacuum stopper, and flavor was definitely impacted. For 1-2 day holds the flavor holds for some wines, improves for some, but definitely changes. But I get the same result with a vacuum stopper. Or even with just a plain cork for 1 day hold. I was excited to try it but won t be buying again. 2Don t try and save $, go for 100% ArgonI do not generally leave poor reviews, but I adore wine, and would hate for others to have their beautiful bottles of wine spoiled the way mine was when I used this product. I use a pure argon product normally which makes me not feel I have to rush a special bottle. I decided to try this brand (a blend of gases) and I will tell you, when I had my second glass from a very lovely Syrah, a mere 4 days after opening and using the preserver immediately and correctly... the taste had diminished dramatically. I tried the product on 2 other bottles of lesser quality wine (still around $20 a bottle) and the same thing happened. Please.. don't chance your nice wine. Get the product with 100% argon. 1It really works!!Are you someone that doesn't kill a bottle of wine in one or two nights. Then you should try this. I basically quit buying really good wine because I got tired of having 1/2 or 3/4 of a high priced bottle go bad. I just don't drink wine every night. Sometimes I go out for a beer, other nights I don't drink anything. Usually I'd put an open bottle in the fridge then forget it. Wasted. So I would never spend more than $10 or $12 on a bottle. Even that was a waste. Worse, I was drinking marginally palatable wine.I decided to try this product, and I can say it definitely works. I have a one week old bottle of very good wine that I spent real money on, and as I'm writing this, the last half a glass tastes exactly the same tonight as it did when I opened it. Eight days old. No refrigeration needed, so now I can leave it out on the counter where I won't forget it.The container is supposed to last for 120 or more uses. I used it two times on this bottle, so it should last for 50 bottles or more. Even if not, it's still a bargain because now I can enjoy really good wine knowing that it won't go bad. I think it preserves the flavor perfectly. 5Works as promisedI've ordered this item twice and been very happy with it. It works by displacing oxygen with a heavier gas that settles over the wine in the bottle, preventing oxidation, which causes the vinegary taste of wine gone bad. I've stored wine in the fridge for two weeks afterwards without any taste deterioration. You just give it four slight presses on the spray and re-cork the bottle. The canister feels like there's nothing in it, it's so light weight, but mine lasts about a year, with regular use. Well worth the investment to keep the wine tasty. And keep the sprays slight; it doesn't require a full press on the sprayer. The only alternative I've heard of is the vacuum pump sealer, but I've got a hard time visualizing them eliminating oxygen by really creating a vacuum in a bottle. Buy this one. 5this stuff works!I've tried pumps and overpriced argon products. This stuff is by far the best value. The pumps only partially work. The pure argon products work, but cost 4-5 times as much per use. Private Preserve is easy to use, effective, and economical. I use it in conjunction with Haley's Corker. After opening a bottle of wine and having a glass, I use Private Preserve on the remaining bottle and cork it with the Haley's Corker. Later when I want another glass, I tip the bottle upside down, open the Corker and pour the wine into my glass, losing none of the Preserve gas. With this method I only have to use Private Preserver once per bottle, no matter how many times I pour from the bottle. I have never had any difficulty using this product. By far the best value in wine perservation products! 5
