I used the 3 of them together to fix a drainage problem in a concrete driveway. The plastic was the same quality as the ones from lowes and depot but the price was much better. Also j really like the heavy duty metal grates.Con: the cheap plastic cap barely stays on there so you have to glue/screw it on. I was backfilling with concrete so the concrete kind of held it in place but I would have liked for it to click on a little better.It would be nice if they made a version with a built in slope as well but for my needs it worked perfectly. 5Well made product that looks good and functions well. I am very impressed with this product. It is well made and substantial. It's almost too easy to use. Just dig your trench, lay the sections to the length you need by interlocking them together and backfill with concrete. It is a good idea to leave the grate in place until the concrete dries as the channel may bow in from the weight of the concrete making the grate difficult to install. After the concrete has hardened, it is easy to remove the grate and clean out the channels and grates. I was able to cut the grate and the channel with my reciprocating saw easily and neatly. 5Nothing fits the outlet on this drain!! updated It is a solid piece of equipment and appears to be well made. It only comes with one end cap and one drain, so you'll need another end cap if you want to use one of the bottom drains. This is because you would need to cap both ends of the drain to use the bottom.But my biggest complaint is that I went to one of the big box stores and NONE of the pvc pipe fit the outlet on this drain. Not 3". Not 4". This is really frustrating. I showed it to a salesperson who was also surprised.This week I'll take it to a plumbing supply store and see what they say. I'll update the review appropriately and provide the info on what I learned.update 7/17/17 I took it to a plumbing supply store and the verdict is that there is no conduit that fits snugly enough for surface contact for pvc cement. One plumber actually suggested duct tape. I don't know if this is the case with all of these driveway drains but I would check before purchasing. Although it's not a high pressure system, I'd like to know the fittings are secure. I put a ton of plastic adhesive on the joint in the hope that it will make a somewhat solid seal, and will reinforce with duct tape.I also had to order another end cap since I"m using a bottom drain and not an end drain. I'm no expert on these drains but based on all the great reviews I expected things to go a little more smoothly. 2Modified the Grate Tangs Could have gotten 5 stars but there are metal tangs on both sides of the gate that I don't like. I would prefer to have screws on top of the grate. To remove the grate you need to pry the plastic sides away from the grate with a screw driver in order to lift it out, which you can do before it is set in concrete. After the concrete is poured these tangs will rip through the plastic sides because the sides can't be spread anymore. So I used a hammer and knocked them flat before installing. There is plenty of friction to hold them in place.The grates seem to be really sturdy which is what I wanted. I read that the plastic grates are affected by UV light and can warp or become brittle over time and degrade. 4The metal grate sold me It looks good & feels durable. Now that it's cemented into place I'm glad I didn't go with the cheaper plastic grate. With the amount of effort it took to install this drainage system I'm hoping not to even think about drainage for the next 10 years. Rock solid & works great. We walk and drive on it daily. I'd recommend it. 5Follow up - OUTSTANDING PRODUCT! Will be buying another for another location on our property. Follow up, as promised... Still FIVE STARS, this thing is rock solid and I have been driving a fully loaded UNLTD Jeep Rubicon over this thing for a few months now. I highly recommend this product, very impressive. ...This is a really great product, for the price. The engineering, manufacture and precision fit are excellent. My only complaint is that installation instructions are moronic and pretty much worthless - this company can do better [Come on guys - seriously? - you need to provide an on-line video describing the product in more detail along with various methods of installation [in differing conditions] to ensure longevity. Will report back after final installation - which will be set into concrete, and *after* we drive over it for a month or so]. For the record, I am a very demanding Architect, and I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up the box to examine the product up close. So far so good! 5Five Stars Very easy to install, effective it moving water away from my driveway, looks great! 5Amazing! We installed the drainage system almost a year ago. I purposefully waited to review it because I wanted to be sure it would really work - and it does!!!! We live on a small residential lake in Kansas City. When we have heavy rains, all of the water flows from the street and homes above us through our front yard and patio on its way to the lake. While there is a drain in the front patio, it cannot handle the quantity of run-off that a heavy rain produces. The result is water running down the foundation and into the lower level of the house. We installed the drainage system at the point of entry and, as long as it does not get covered in leaves, it works perfectly.We installed 3 sections which cost us about $100. Assembly and installation was a snap. Amazing! 5This is a dangerous product. This is a high quality, well engineered trench drain with a major defect. The steel grates have sharp edges on the underside and it is impossible to handle them without getting cut. The manufacturer has addressed the problem by attaching warning stickers to the topside, but the stickers come off, and when the grates are pulled up for routine drain maintenance dangerous cuts to hands and fingers are unavoidable.We smoothed the sharp edges by running the grates through a steel brush attached to a bench grinder, but I doubt the galvanizing benefited from this process. The manufacturer needs to do this process before the grates are galvanized.With so many other trench drains available that do not pose this danger, why buy these? 1Great product I'm very pleased with this drain. The reason I didn't give it five stars is because the metal grate has small tabs to lock into the plastic of the trench drain. In order for you to remove the grate the metal tabs must be able to push the plastic outwards, which is not possible in concrete. So, I hammered them back to prevent this issue. This is a minor design issue that could be improved upon. 4
