Non stick surface has failed. Swiss Diamond company stalls ...Non stick surface has failed. Swiss Diamond company stalls and goes dark on my warranty claim.. They asked for brighter pictures of the failed pan then they immediately closed the ticket as "resolved". 1Cleans like a dreamI have used Calphalon & All-Clad cookware since the 1990's. Calphalon isn't what is used to be. It has become harder & harder to find quality non-stick cookware that doesn't need replacing every couple of years. Swiss Diamond just may be the answer to the home cook's wish. Solid. Heavy without being hard to handle. Cleans like a dream. I haven't put it into the dish washer even tho SD says its ok. It cleans in seconds. Performs better than any pan I've used in the past. Not inexpensive but worth the $$. 5Most durable non-stick pan on marketWe live on a boat and we often use a pan of this size with a lid for 80% of our cooking needs. We like the non-stick qualities of a pan and have owned a half dozen brands. None of the brands were durable. Typically a scratch would develop even with coated utensils. Once a scratch is there, it is no longer non-stick in that area and cleaning now becomes difficult. We've been through several pans to date, even an expensive one from France. We've wound up throwing them all away and considered going back to plain stainless steel which could always be cleaned, although with lots of elbow grease at times and pains with sticking. With that lead-in, I saw the Swiss Diamond pan advertised and was intrigued with the claimed durability of a diamond infused coating so I bought one from Amazon last summer. We have used it everyday, usually twice a day (breakfast and evening meal), and the coating is pristine. It really is durable, a great step up from our experiences with previous pans. The glass cover makes the pan useful for the main course at dinner, like a mini-oven as well as a fry pan. The top handle can be closed or open to keep the inside moist or not. We've had no problem picking up the lid by the knob even after extended cooking, the knob remained cool and with the knob rotated to off, no steam was coming out. However, there are some things to watch out for. As per our past experiences with coated pans, the two great enemies of long life are scratches and carbonization. The diamond infused coated has addressed scratches issue successfully compared to our previous pans - as mentioned before, the surface is still pristine. To prevent carbonization, just wipe the pan with a paper towel to remove all residue. Since the pan is non-stick, this takes about 10 seconds at most. Even residue that resulted from frying pork chops (for example) with very little oil leaving a heavy, black residue comes right off with a paper towel. If the residue is not removed and the pan is used again, the residue can become carbonized and will affect the non-stick qualities of the surface (our past experiences with other pans). In other words, the pan becomes scrap metal if you let that happen. So, spend 10 seconds, wipe the pan with a paper towel and it's ready for reuse. We are very happy with the product and will report back here after a year of use - but it still looks like new now even with twice a day use after 6 months. 5Swiss Diamond Nonstick Fry Pan with Lid - 12.5"This pan cooks great so far. Seems to live up to it's hype ! I have only had it about a month or so. It is a heavy pan and the opposite handle gets hot so you need a pot holder to move it. I love the large size and the depth of this pan. So far I love it. Time will tell for how long. My only complaint is it did not come shipped with the lid as advertised ! It's not the pans fault just the company who shipped it. I contacted Amazon customer care and they reimbursed me for the lid and even found another one on site to re-order. They were great about helping me solve my problem. Re-ordered the lid from another vendor and all is good. If this pan lasts a long time, I may be ordering the whole set. 5Great PanWe love this pan!!!!!! It releases eggs the best. My wife uses it just about everyday and have about 100+ uses on it. Lots of eggs, some fish, burgers. My wife now want the 12" with a Lid. Yes it is PTFE (Teflon) but Im a medical device engineer and what most people dont know is that PTFE has virtually no extractables and leachables and is used in Medical Devices all the time with no issues that I know of. As for the fumes, you need to get the darn thing up past 600 degrees F before anything gets released.BTW, I mostly hand wash this due to my wife wants to use it right away. I have washed it in the dishwasher about 20 times already. Oh and sometimes people feel the need to try and use metal on it. DONT you will scratch it. 5The BestSwiss Diamond is in a class by itself. Once you use this cookware you will think the rest of your cookware is garbage....yes it is that good. The glass lids are great as you twist the knob and it lets the steam escape. I love the pans for eggs and bacon nothing ever sticks. The weight is heavy and it is worth the investment. It is pricey enough to think of it as an investment.Note: The Swiss Diamond cookware with the i suffix is for induction cooktops. it is more expensive and while it may work, I'm not sure of that, there is no reason to spend more so look out for that. 5I'm very disappointed given that Swiss Diamond was a top pick on ... We bought one of these back in 2013. The coating started bubbling and flaking off not long after. I'm very disappointed given that Swiss Diamond was a top pick on Consumer Reports 1Not very impressive over timeWas really good then we first bought it but seemed to go down hill pretty quickly. Treated it very gingerly! Low heat, no cook sprays, silicone utensils, and always hand washed. Had for 2 years and eggs stick to it even over low heat with oil. Too expensive for its longevity. 3Great Longevity and Heat DistributionOur small fry pan is still in perfect condition, about four years after purchase. We have followed the use instructions diligently, never using metal utensils, high heat or the dishwasher. I generally let the pan cool, then rinse it using only my fingers, then give it a quick swab with a soapy sponge. Some oil has burned on to the underside and discolored over the years, but the nonstick surface is in perfect shape. This is the perfect pan for eggs or fish, because they just slide out when cooked, and don't tear on the way to the plate. I like the vent in the glass lid, and find heat distribution to be even on both gas and electric burners. It is an excellent pan. 5FANTASTICWe've had several different pots & pans. But Swiss Diamond is by far the best you can buy, as long as you clean them the way they are supposed to be cleaned, hand wash only and never start a dish on high heat, that will destroy the finish. We cook all our dishes starting on low and gradually turning it up. 5
