DO NOT BUY! each bulb lasted 4 days, no joke, 4 days.DO NOT PURCHASE. I would have given these bulbs 0 stars but you can t. These bulbs had a life of literally 4 days. I am not joking, I replaced the recessed bulbs in my office which the original bulbs had been in use for nearly 7 years and these bulbs lasted 4 days. I would never purchase these bulbs again. I don t know if they were a defective batch or what but they all lasted 4 days. What a rip off.1Damaged product, not worth the priceI had hoped to take advantage of the lower price available for these bulbs by purchasing online. Unfortunately, two of the bulbs were damaged: one shattered inside the box and the other had a detached filament.Having paid for six bulbs and only receiving four working bulbs makes this a bad deal. I don't expect every shipment to contained damaged product, but the risk is pretty high for the modest saving compared to the hardware store.1Would buy againWe bought a new house and the lighting in each room is different. Some rooms have different types of recessed lighting, some don't even have lighting and the switch is connected to an outlet. Anyway, one of the rooms has recessed lighting and a couple of the bulbs were out so I figured I would buy a box that way I'd have extra in case more went out. Unfortunately, one of the bulbs didn't work and it happened to be the first one I grabbed so I lucked out on that one. Not a big deal since I didn't need all of them at once but I contacted Amazon and they said they would send out a new box right away and that they did. I sent the old box with the bad bulb back and almost three years later I haven't had to replace any of the bulbs again. However, this is in a spare bedroom that isn't used a whole lot so take that with a grain of salt.Pros:- Good price- Looks great- Lasts longCons:- The first box I received had a bad bulb but the second box was fine.- They don t replace themselves.Overall I m satisfied with these bulbs. They were a perfect replacement. Even though I don t use the room that they are in a whole lot they still have held up well over a long period of time. Would definitely purchase again, but it seems like I won t have to for a while.5Longer lasting bulbs - 130 Volt (aka "Long Life")These light bulbs that are rated at 130 Volt are very hard to find nowadays at stores - thankfully, Amazon carries them. Long ago 130 Volt bulbs were called "Long Life" light bulbs...and that's because they last longer versus bulbs rated at 120 Volt. Many incandescent bulbs rated at 120 Volt (the most common one) can go bust when there is a voltage surge of a few points. But with these Sylvania 65-Watt 130-Volt BR30's, unless the surge is very big, they won't be affected enough to pop. Basically, the higher voltage rated bulbs such as these have slightly thicker filaments and can withstand surges better, therefore last longer. Yes, there is a slight downside - with these bulbs plugged into your 120 volt circuitry, they will be slightly less bright than installing a 120 Volt bulb of the same wattage.I am glad these bulbs still exist, so that I have to change bulbs less frequently.5Look at the difference in my photoI ordered these same bulbs a year or two ago. When I ordered them this time they did not come in the box in the picture like last time (in my photo the white frosted on on right is the correct bulb). The logo is barely stamped on and looks nothing like the sylvania logo on the previous bulbs. Listing says 130 and the bulb says 120. They look poorly made. I am almost certain they are counterfeit. One was broken right off the bat. One was crooked. If you get them and they come individually in white cardboard and aren't frosted looking then you got the wrong thing. Super angry. Seller should be banned from selling on here.1Now 1 month after this another one turn bad. Glass part of the bulb fell out socket ...I received package of 6 bulbs. I used 2 at a time. one of them gave away in 45 days . I though of giving this product benefit of doubt . Now 1 month after this another one turn bad. Glass part of the bulb fell out socket while metal connector is still attached to the socket. This is such a hazard when you think you have 2 kid play under them all the and one is infant. I was so disgusted by quality of product. I wish there is way to blacklist some seller/product.Sylvania 65W BR30 Indoor Flood Light Bulbs, Soft White 130V - 15172 - Dimmable (6 Pack)133% of bulbs are uncorking and become money down the drain.I immediately needed to replace three bulbs right away, so, I bought the 6 pack. One of brand new of these bulbs was bad (didn't work) right out of the box. I stored the remaining 2 bulbs (remember I needed three right away, plus the one that was defective upon delivery) in a closet. Needed one today... as a build burnt out. So I opened another brand new bulb....... Didn't work, DOA.........I don't think there is any recourse, especially over 2 light bulbs, But, buying bulbs slightly cheaper via Amazon is definitely not cheaper than purchasing locally.1outstandingNote, it's the 130-Volt! The difference in longevity between the 120v and 130v is years!I moved into my house 3.5 yrs ago and the flood lights were still going strong even though I had them on about 9 hrs a day and my electric bill was very reasonable (14 flood lights). I was impressed but didn't think much of it. About 8 months ago one burned out and I figured they will all start to go so I picked up six, same brand, same wattage. Eventually another bulb went out and I replaced that two. Then the bulb I had just replaced went out. I was puzzled. Why were the original bulbs still going strong (3.5 yrs) and the one I replaced had gone out. So I took the new bulb and one of the old bulbs, put them side by side and started to read. The only difference was the volts, old 130, new 120. So i went on the internet and the mystery was explained. Not only do the 130v last longer by years, they also use less electricity. The folks we bought the house from were in it for 2 years. All the flood lights are the same so that leads me to believe they didn't replace any either until I replaced the first one. So, in my estimation, some of the flood lights that I have not replaced are still doing well after 3.5 yrs and maybe even 5.5 yr. No 120v bulb has done that (know from my old house.)So, yes, 130v for me all the way. The 120v does burn a little brighter but nothing that is noticeable without a hard stare. For me, though, longevity wins.5Lasts Longer Than 120V - Looks The SameI installed about 60 recessed lights in my house for a remodel a year and a half ago, and used 120V and 130V for the initial install. I've had over 40 of the 120V burn out, but all of the 130V are still working. These bulbs WILL last longer than 120V in my experience, and for the same price, it's a no brainer. As for light output, I cannot tell a noticeable difference between a 120V and 130V light. I have mixed voltages in some rooms and can't tell. I also have my rooms on dimmer switches and they seem consistent when dimming at different levels.Another plus about these bulbs is that they do not have any writing on the bottom of the bulb, which for me is a huge plus since I like things to look clean and consistent.I highly recommend these bulbs to anyone wanting incandescent lighting for their home. Please rate my review as helpful if this helped you.52 of 6 Defective & Company Did Not Respond To My RequestTwo of the six bulbs were defective. One fell apart when I put it into a socket and one didn't work at all. I emailed the company and asked them to replace the two defective bulbs but the company never responded.1
