Low mAh, not low self dischargeI'll address the second part of the headline first: these are not Low Self Discharge. I do not rate down because of this since they are not labelled as Low SD, I just want to call it out so others know what they are buying. If you plan to use these up quickly after charging, these batteries are fine. If you want them to retain charge for several months, look elsewhere. I did rate down because they did not achieve the stated capacity. None of my 8 exceeded 4200 mAh after two break-in cycles. This was measured on the charge cycle with a Zanflare C4, the former is a generous measure of true capacity and the latter is widely considered to overestimate capacity by 5-10%. Still, these are a good value if this is enough capacity and you will use it quickly after charge.Edit: a positive note - all of these cells consistently show some of the lowest resistances I've seen on my charger.3If all goes well, these will be cost effective.Device Test: 8 LED Holiday Candelabras for windows 3 LED "flickering" lights per Candelabra 6 hours per night via internal timer 3 size C Tenergy rechargeable batteries per Candelabra [3x8=24 batteries]I purchased 3 packs (24 batteries) to fuel 8 LED window candelabras. Regular alkaline batteries will last about 24 days, running 6 hours per night via timer, which I usually start the second week of DEC to get through New Years. Those get disposed, and due to cost of new batteries, I usually put the candles away until next year. This year I started the candles the second week of NOV, and plan to run them all winter until sometime in March. In comparison to alkaline disposables... I should only need to recharge about five times. I'll provide an update in a couple of months on how long they last before needing recharging, and how many times I need to recharge. What I can say is that they charged very well, with no "duds". They have been working now for almost a week, and appear to be discharging just fine. The batteries arrived undamaged, with no leaks or obvious defects.5Not the same specifications as other C batteriesBe aware that these batteries have a shorter positive post (the little knob portion) and will not work in some things. I bought these for my grand daughter's infant swing and the would not work. I will use them for other C size battery devices and see if they would work or not but it is questionable. Just be aware.1Tenergy - in "C" size!I've used Tenergy "AA" & "AAA" batteries for years. Of al of the NiMH batteries I've used, these seem to provide the most peak performance. The "C" batteries are no different. They last and last. I have just one purpose for these batteries, and that is for use in my Roomba vacuum system boundary towers. I keep one set in each of the towers, and keep another set charged up and ready to go! Sure I need to change them a little more frequently than alkaline batteries, but I'm keeping dozens of spent alkalines out of the landfills!5These rechargeable C batteries by Tenergy are great. I'm so happy to have themThese rechargeable C batteries by Tenergy are great. I'm so happy to have them. Now I can stop buying and throwing away batteries all the time. These came already pre-charged and are lasting a long time. I still haven't had to charge them up.I don't have many things that take C batteries so this 8 pk is going to last me a very, very long time. I don't think I'll ever get to the 1000 time recharge point, but if I do this price will be well worth the money. The temperature factor is also a big plus, plus for me. My camping radio takes quite a few C batteries and sometimes while storing it, it gets to extreme hot temperature. Glad to know these batteries can take the heat and cold too. -4 degrees is pretty darn cold to have batteries stay charged as well as 129 degrees.Great product and I'm very happy with my purchase.5Very high failure rateI couldn't find a way to rate less than 1 star.Wife purchased several LED candles around the house, and I wanted to use these to power them. In fact, bought 2 sets for a total of 16 batteries. After a month, one battery registered as "bad" in my charger, and refused to charge. Month after month I would find another, and another going bad. After six months I had less than half of my original number functioning properly. After nearly I year I am down to 2 working batteries. Read the other reviews listed here.I emailed the seller and manufacturer. Both said that after 30 days I am out of luck.Save your money. Do not purchase these.1Get what you pay for I guess...........just fair - you can do betterI hovered between 2 and 3 stars for this product. Got these to power some LED window candles. I read the reviews and decided to take a chance. Shouldn't have to be like that when you purchase a product. I currently have one battery that will not charge completely so I will try the discharge on my smart charger, then try recharging it. The others, after a full charge, seem to drain pretty fast for a simple, single LED application. Using them with the Xodus Innovations FPC1525A Battery operated candle found on Amazon. I may update this later.Update: got one of these that will not hold its charge. You can do better than these with something like Eneloop. I would not buy them again.Funny that the store selling these does not respond to all the negative comments about the batteries? Almost a quarter of the comments are negative. Guess they really don't care about their customers.2Love the idea, still use them, but keep going bad...I have many of these batteries as I have battery powered closet lights all over my house. These are a great alternative to purchasing alkalines over and over. Worked great for a few months but just about every time now that I charge a set of four one will be bad and unable to charge. This is highly frustrating as these should be able to be recharged at least hundreds of times... Because of this I won't buy these any more from this retailer. Disappointing and expensive as I have now thrown away at least 5 of these and counting...2One star because the information on the product is incorrect ...One star because the information on the product is incorrect. It claims to be the exact size of a C battery but it is not. The distance between the end of the positive contact and the negative is about 1/2 millimeter too short. The battery might work in installations where the battery sits by itself but in installations where the battery is installed in tandem |----|-|-----|- for example, the combined shortness of two batteries prevents them from making contact. The manufacturer should correct the description or make certain that the length of the battery is correct.1Junk batteries. Not Tenergy in general but these batteries from this seller are JUNKThis specific purchase from this seller appears to be a garbage batch. I run a set of 8 white and also 8 blue Tenergy rotating them 8 service 8 charging. The first blue were into service 06.17.13 and held up until 4.24.15.I purchased 8 from this seller sometime before the end of 2014 that remained in the ship pack until 04.25.15. when 2 of the previous set developed crystals and failed a reconditionThe first set would run the same load for up to 31 hours. A camera with no flaws. Typically changed each 24hrs. The video started to degrade around 22 hrs for 2 days so I tested and found 2 of the set were having problems.Opened this new batch and charged on 4.24.15. Just as with all the others I did not perform a conditioning prior to use because I have had great results never doing that. My first blue set got around 200 cycles and my white are still going at well above that. This set of blue from this seller came with 2 that just drop out fast and 2 that are consistently superior with the rest behaving better than the worst but not as good at the best. They have been degrading to the point of requiring adjustment to keep the picture alive around 16 hours and falling off a couple of more times before complete failure.Tonight I allowed them to remain connected for exactly 21 hours. Just around 20 hours the video droped to nothing but vertical bars but the camera was still broadcasting a detectable signal although not useful. By 21 hours there was no broadcast. The batteries were pulled and allowed to rest from the load for 10 minutes then measured. 1-8 on pull w 10min rest .87,.99,.92,.89,.86,.89,1.13,1.10 . In this case there are 2 at the bottom as usual (#1 and #5) with others a bit higher and7 and 8 looking decent enough that if the others had not dropped out it would still be broadcasting a picture. Also the drop out certainly drags what appear to be the only 2 actually decent batteries in the group down faster than the load would if all batteries were in ok condition. These batteries have 12 cycles on them and after the first few terrible results I did go ahead with a conditioning and it really did not change anything. They begin to fade long before 24 hours and in no way can they support the 30+ hours of runtime that the batteries they are replacing could.I suspect old inventory. Some have said that there are counterfeit Tenergy batteries out there so maybe that is even possible.1
